Ψ - All In The Mind - Anish Chhetri

Who am I?

Hi, my name is Anish. I am an 18 year old A level student, who is hoping to study BSc Psychology at university. However, I haven't always been a top student in terms of grades, and the reason why has always eluded me. I study as much as other students, why am I not achieving as well as they are? I suspected that I might have some form of dyslexia, or a learning difficulty. So I contacted the ALS department in college, and an assessment was then arranged. The college assessed me the next week however, their assessment and study was extremely poor. They required me to only write a short biography to check for basic literacy skills, and I know for a fact that dyslexia does not comprise only of literacy defects. So they passed me off as an "ok student". Thus, i've been wrongly labelled as "lazy" or "stupid". I'd like to tell you that this is the reason why I would want to study Psychology at university; to further investigate learning deficits in children and to finally understand what I have. However, I would be lying to you if I said that.

My reasons why I want to study psychology at university is to further contribute to science and society as a whole. All my work are under the creative commons license and not subjected to copyright. I believe copyright is utterly selfish, and the world could do with the sharing of knowledge. I strive to overcome all barriers in my path and hope to finally prove to my university choices that I am, an ideal candidate for them. For Psychology, is the most relevant discipline I can think of.
